This brand of this sort of step stool was being used by a YouTuber, and it seems to be holding up for him, so I’m giving it a try. If they’re OK, I also want to get one of the taller ones. I intend to use one to sit on in a tub and one to help with getting in and out of a van for someone recuperating from leg surgery. I can feel a little give on it when I step on it, and absolutely have to remember to place my feet perpendicular to the fold, not along it, which makes it buckle (more).Out of the box one of them has a bit of a bend/nick on it, but it doesn’t seem to be in a place to cause any structural issues, so I’ll keep that one for sitting on and hopefully we won’t have any issues with the other. I’d use it only as a short-term solution until I get a sturdier metal step stool—I really wouldn’t count on it lasting a long time.
