TL;DR – it’s a solid bedframe with nice details, overall easy to assemble. Watch out for protruding insert nuts in the boards – you will need to request a replacement bed because the bolts won’t tighten. Amazon will replace the entire bed so you can grab the parts you need and pickup the the bed after for you if you chat in. Don’t waste time contacting the manufacturer, Mellow.I’m giving this bed frame 3 stars because we’ve been very pleased with our first purchase of this frame in King size (Pine) two years ago. I decided to purchase the same frame for our guest room. Several of the bolts did not tighten and as I pulled the board back I noticed the insert nut (the metal piece that should be stuck inside the board that the bolt will screw into) was protruding way out which is why the bolt wasn’t tightening. I chatted into Amazon customer service and they offered to send an replacement bed so I could take out the spare parts. This was super annoying considering I only needed a couple parts and it’s a huge package. They assured me they would arrange for pickup of the bed once I got out the parts I needed. This ended up being a good thing as I soon discovered there were several boards with the insert nut that wasn’t lying flat inside the board and I swapped out several pieces from the replacement bed. My tip to you: upon receiving the bed, scan each board for any areas where the insert nut is protruding from the board and immediately request a replacement bed. It’s super annoying but I appreciate Amazon CS that is arranging pickup (they will pack it up for me, and they will even dissemble the piece if you need that). Super impressed with that. The only thing that would make it better would be for the supplier, Mellow, to keep spare parts in stock to make the replacement process less of a headache.
